I'm a blog follower. I especially love blogs that do fun tutorials on crafts or projects or even recipes. One blog I have been especially inspired by is Jones Design Company. I have been inspired to be creative through her tutorials, so I thought I'd give the whole tutorial a try. And I'm combining the things I love most about blogs...tutorials and recipes!
My sister, Claire, moved into her first apartment. I wanted to give her something special for her new place and decided to give her a recipe box filled with some of my favorite (and easy!) recipes. I got my supplies and here's how it turned out:
And now you can make your very own! Here's what you'll need:
- Wooden box that will fit standard size recipe cards
- Paint
- Paper for decoupaging (I used an old book of famous quotations)
- Paper for embellishments
- Mod Podge (I used the matte finish)
- Paint brush
Now for the fun part...

Step 3:
Step 4:
And there you have it! For the final touch, you'll want to paint a thin layer of Mod Podge over the part that you have decoupaged. It will help everything stay on and look nice!
Let me know if you decide to replicate this one or make your own! Happy crafting!
