And we're off!

Well, the time has finally come for us to leave for Greece! Briefing starts this Saturday (for Jon and I), our students arrive in Dallas on Sunday, and we fly out on Tuesday. Crazy, I know! Here are some things the Lord has taught us during our preparation times:
  • It is good to wait on the Lord.
  • God is our Provider in every sense of the word. He has brought us many prayer and financial partners. Our trip would not have been possible without the sacrificial giving of our family and friends. There have been times when I would check our mail and be moved to tears at people's generousity. There are just no words to express our gratitude.
  • Christ is trustworthy. There have been many times throughout this process (and others!) that I've wondered, "Okay, you do know our needs, right? Could there be just one need you might mark off the list?" To which he has so graciously replied, "My grace is sufficient. My power is perfected in your weakness." Therefore, I will candidly boast in my lack of trust at times in our Lord. But each time, he has pulled me back, reminded me of his faithfulness, and provided in perfect timing. It has been by his grace alone that my faith has been sustained and I am grateful!

I am convinced that our response to his faithfulness would be praise to his name! Therefore, I leave you with Psalm 145, specifically verses 4-7:

"One generation shall commend
your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness.
They shall pour forth the
fame of your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness."

How abundant is the goodness of our Lord! Praise him with us and please pray for us while we are away. See you in July!
